SWAT SIGHT
An artist’s book combining a splintered lyric essay with images on the subject of aphantasia, a recently defined condition of not possessing a ‘mind’s eye’ (not being able to create visual imagery). I combined images of fabrics, flowers, and leaves scanned with a home printer, found images and my own colour photographs, screenshots of online conversations and forums on the condition, and interspersed them between a lyrical essay focused on the problem of knowing how other minds operate, communication and difference, Ludwig Wittgenstein, and the value assigned to visual culture by our society.
